I’m transitioning! There I’ve come out at long last. What a relief it is to feel free from the burden of modern adult professional life.

Yes, I’m changing. Not my gender but my life.

There comes a time when you have to take that leap. For me the decision had always been made back when I was a lad but some how it was lost over the years.

I had began to feel like a huge hamster on a wheel, doing what I was doing because it’s what I’d always done. Well enough’s enough I’m getting off!

So, decision made August last year. Christina took some convincing. But having made the decision (and there is no turning back) it’s like a cloud has been lifted.

So, I’m transitioning into a van lifer! Letting the hair grow and learning to live off £100 a week. This is for daytime food, clothes, beer and travel expenses. I am saving because of Covid and being unable to go to the pub, so the next few months are going to be challenging, for sure.

Anyway I’ve saved enough for the DJI Mavic Air 2 drone see Time to buy a drone post for more detail. Just ordered on Amazon and should be delivered tomorrow!

I’ll be posting a podcast, or trying at least to show her off when she arrives.

Isn’t she beautiful!

Because where we live is close to Manchester airport, I won’t be able to fly her due to flight restrictions in the vicinity of airfields. So will have to wait until we can get down to Wales. There is plenty of open space with good landscape to explore and capture. I’m particularly keen to get some active footage cycling and kayaking but that may take some time to master. Although the Active Track mode demonstrated in the video https://youtu.be/tDfd_-mJVDA seems pretty good even in areas where there are lots of obstructions!

That’s all for now, and don’t forget to subscribe at the top right of the page for updates on new posts and content.

Bye for now…

Countdown to full time transition!

  1. Wow! ….and ….Yay!!! Good for you Sean, you’ve always been unique and true to yourself in the midst of all the BS! I’m only slightly jealous and equally ready to leave the constraints of work treadmill behind at some point.
I will follow your blog with interest and be cheering you on all the way!
    Best of luck!

    1. Thanks Sue. I’ll be popping into the Hanover next year as the company building the van Mclaren Sports Homes are in Leigh.
Take care and thanks for the support!
      Sean

    1. Had a bet with the Kids at Christmas as I was becoming a hippy I’d go the whole hog, so committed not to cut for 6 months. This inability to get a hair cut with Covid hasn’t mattered!

  2. Made up for you both, me and burp keep saying we’re going to move up Yorkshire way because we’re up that end most weekends it’s so beautiful and wild 🙂
